A physician with Dermatology Consultants of Wisconsin, Steven Armus is also prairie technician and environmental biologist at Native Prairie Restoration. When not busy with work, Steven Armus follows sports teams including the New York Knicks.
The Knicks prioritize giving back to the community. In fact, the team administers several programs under its corporate social responsibility arm, including Knicks Hoops for Troops.
In coordination with Budweiser, Knicks Hoops for Troops is a program aimed at honoring and recognizing the bravery of current and past military personnel from within the tri-state area. For the entire season, the team honors exceptional men and women in service at select games. Honorees also have the opportunity to visit the Knicks training facility to watch the team practice.
To be chosen for recognition, military personnel must be 21 years or older, with a commitment to service that has shown to be of great impact to the community. Further, the program recognizes those whose military service has been meaningful and has made a lasting impact on other people’s lives, and whose actions have positively inspired others.
