University of Colorado graduate Steven Armus is currently self-employed as a prairie restoration consultant in Caledonia, Wisconsin. A New York Rangers fan since the 1960s, Steven Armus has been attending games since before the goalies wore masks.

As of January 24, 2017--48 games into the 2016-2017 season--the New York Rangers were in fourth place in the Eastern Conference’s Metropolitan Division with 63 points and a 31-16 record. If the playoffs were to start mid-season, the team would be in the first wild card position. The Rangers also possess the NHL’s fourth-best goal differential with a plus 40; only Columbus, Washington, and Minnesota have better differentials.

Rangers right wing Mats Zuccarello leads the team in scoring with 38 points and assists with 29, while eight-year veteran Michael Grabner, in his first year with the club, has the most goals at 21. Though Chris Kreider has the team’s most penalty minutes at 30, he still achieved a respectable 34 points and a plus/minus rating of +5.
